CFAC ARTISTS
"Chicken Farmers"

   Tuesday through Saturday you will find some of the artists studios open …but not all … some of them have real jobs. Generally more are open on Saturdays … and more on 1st Saturdays each month.

   The following list of artists have studios in the CFAC. Several artists have web sites and email contact. Please check out their work and visit sites. Contact artists for specific times they are open or to arrange a time to visit with them.

Don & Rosemary Starr  vintage clothing & books, plus a whole lot more

Rosemary has an annual herb & Octoberfest the 1st Sat in Oct and an art gala & fashion show at the Kendall Art Center in July to benefit the Association for the Blind.

Jeremy Bundick - pottery
Millicent Frost - painting

 
Jeremy works for Roger by day and has does his own great work for his studio.
Millicent works at Hobby Lobby and is very knowledgeable about supplies She does mixed media painting and sculpture.

Michelle Cuevas - painting

Michelle works for Roger where she air brushes, hand paints, and glazes plates. 
In her studio, she gives lessons and paints portraits in pastels, acrylics, and oil.

Tony Dosiek - copper wall sculpture, light fixtures, and fountains
Tony has 25 years experience manipulating light gage metal into any shape or form. Nature is a great asset in his designs combined with knowledge from the construction industry, AutoCAD drafting, commercial roofing and detailed residential projects and sign fabrication.  Currently, Tony has set his sights on the interior design industry specializing in creating innovative lighting.

Stone Dog Studio
Oscar Latham - stone sculpture

You can see Oscar carving on stone most days.  If you miss seeing Oscar though, you can't miss his work.  He has a stone sculpture garden outside his studio.

The Old Greenhouse Gallery
Joe Morgan - pottery

Joe has been coming to the Chicken Farm Art Center for many years.  As an expert welder, he was instrumental in helping Roger and Jeremy build the big kiln for our big pot. 
His work has been in the Gecko Gallery, and his students' work has been displayed here during ceramic weekend. Joe likes to make amphora's, horse hair pots, fish, and whistlers.

Magazi
Debbie Medlin - creative designs

The Magazi is open every Saturday, but plans to be in studio more as retirement nears.

Debbie has unique items - wall hangings, scarves, ornaments, bags, jewelry, incense, etc.
The Vineyard
Mary Swain - mosaics

The Vineyard is a beautiful studio and gallery, Mary, like many chicken farmers, has her studio behind her gallery.  She makes mosaic crosses, suns, and other sculpture pieces. Her creative use of shells, beads, bones, and mirrors - and her craftsmanship is excellent. Really beautiful work.
Ben Sum - painting

Ben is a art faculty member at Angelo State University.  He recieved his MFA in painting from Texas Tech University.  Before joining ASU, Ben taught painting and drawing at Western Texas College in Snyder, TX for 13 years.  An active artist, Ben has exhibitioned in Hong Kong and in the US.  his works are represented by St. Charles Gallery in Rockport, TX.

Cycris Ho - painting

A Hong Kong native, Cycris Ho received her BFA in painting and drawing from Angelo State University.  Before coming to the United States, she studied at Hong Kong Technical Institute in Graphic Design.  Upon graduation she worked as a graphic designer and art coordinator for eight years.  She has organized and conducted several mural projects in Hong Kong.  She also participated in two mural projects in Snyder, TX.  In 2006, she completed a mural for Jim Bean Photography in San Angelo.
Linda Gosset - sculpture

 Linda has been a resident and studio artist at the Chicken Farm since 2007. She has wholesaled work to Neiman Marcus and other boutique galleries. She also works with assemblage and fabric collages.  Her ceramic work is mostly functional with a focus on surface design.  Bright colorful wild designs best descibe Linda's work.  Linda works predominantly with clay.

Gary Norman - Batik wall hangings
Originally an advertising art director, Gary is represented by St. Charles Art Gallery in Rockport, Texas and in the Realto Art Center in Aransas Pass, Texas. Inspired by the tropical atmosphere of South America, he uses a process of dyes on fabric with a hot wax resist.  Vibrant, textured abstracts with multicolored richness best describes his work.
